For caregivers

Caregiving can be a difficult task. Caregivers experience many emotions as they say goodbye to a loved one while continuing to meet the physical, financial and day-to-day needs of their loved ones.

Hospice volunteers can provide company for your loved one in order for you to take time inside or outside of the home for shopping, banking, or self-care.

We also provide grief support, a listening ear and caregiver resources.

For more information or to request a volunteer, call the coordinator at 604-223-7309.

Monthly Caregiver Group

Powell River Hospice Society hosts a monthly drop-in for caregivers. Anyone caring for someone who is elderly, living with dementia, or who has a chronic or acute illness is welcome. We share experiences and resources and take time to relax.

Held 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hospice Office on the last Thursday of each month. Participation is free. No registration necessary.
